The Job Chamberlain family has been credited for establishing Findlay’s First Regular Baptist Church.   They opened their log cabin home for services.  Attendance grew and services were held in the County Court House.  The members had a disagreement over having Sunday School Classes.  Ultimately, they split and there were no services for 20 yrs.  They reorganized with 62 members and resumed services at the Court House.  During the Civil War services were halted.  After the War, population soared in Findlay and First Baptist’s attendance increased as well.  The first church building was on 119 East Lima Street, Findlay,  OH for the next 77yrs.  Then in the 1950’s, attendance increased again creating a need for a larger church.  The current property was purchased and the church was built in May of 1965.
