Our verse for today is John 10:10b,
“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Isn’t this verse comforting? Not only does Jesus provide eternal life when we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, but He also gives us an abundant life here and now, a life overflowing with every good blessing so we can accomplish all that He has called us to do.
In a practical sense, what does this signify? It means if you lose your job, God has an even better opportunity for you. If your source of income changes, He has countless other means for supplying your needs. Just think of the many ways He provided for His people throughout history: manna from heaven (Ex. 16:35), water from a rock (Ex. 17:6), multiplying a boys simple lunch (Matt. 14:14-21), just to name a few. His resources are unlimited. He will not fail you (Habakkuk 3:17-19).
Listen, God is the same today as He was in Bible times (Hebrews 13:8), and He works through everything that touches your life for your good. And so, no matter how dire your circumstances may appear or how far He stretches the last of your resources, trust Him to supply all your needs (Philippians 4:19).
Prayer thought: “Father, thank You for loving me and supplying my needs so abundantly, amen.”
For today, remember that there are no limits to God’s provision.
