Every day you make choices. The situations you face today can either build you up or tear you down. The good news is – you have a choice in the matter. Either you can invite God to work through your circumstances to develop your faith and character, or you can permit the problems to control you. The key is in who you allow to interpret what happens to you.
In Matthew 7:24-25 it says, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”
If you look at your challenges in light of your own abilities, you will likely feel disheartened, irritated, or overwhelmed because your only choice is to fight with the tools at your disposal.
However, a much wiser course of action is to go to God’s Word for wisdom and do as He says. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
No matter what you face in life, God the Father can certainly handle it. And if you look to Him to direct your path (Proverbs 3:6), He will use the adversity to edify you and teach you more about His wonderful ways.
Prayer thought: “Lord, help me seek Your wisdom and direction in every situation I face in life. When You lead and I follow, my life is built on a solid foundation, amen.”
