Daily Devotions

Are you being called upon to make challenging sacrifices? There are times when you may be required to take on jobs or responsibilities that are difficult or you deem “beneath you,” and you may be tempted to nurse a bad attitude or hold a grudge. But don’t. Right now there’s nothing more victorious you can do than to give your best effort for the Lord.
The apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Colossians (Colossians 3:23-24), “And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for you serve the Lord Christ.”
Your mind-set about what you have to do makes a tremendous difference – directly affecting your task now, but also impacting eternity. Why? Because one day you will stand in the presence of Jesus Christ and be judged for what you’ve done, whether good or bad, and how you honored Him in what He gave you to accomplish while here.
The apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5: 9-10, “Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he has done, whether it be good or bad.”
Keep this in mind as you go about your day. You may have many unpleasant responsibilities to take care of, but do them joyfully for God, knowing that He will reward your loving obedience. That change in perspective alone will make all the difference in your day and also in eternity.
Prayer: “Lord, whatever I’m called to do, I will do it joyfully and with excellence, knowing I am serving You, amen.”
