Peace. Where can you find peace in a world so full of unrest?
Luke 2:14 says, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
Does your heart ache for peace? The crazy nature of the Christmas season sometimes arouses more weariness, conflict, loneliness, feelings of disparity, and unworthiness than the joy promised by the angels at Christ’s birth. The turmoil within your spirit and unfulfilled dreams may leave you longing for rest. But be assured, your Savior desires to give you genuine peacefulness in the midst of all the pressures of the season.
The apostle John stated Jesus’ words in John 14:27 this way, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
You will feel exhausted and overwhelmed when you believe everything depends on you. But Jesus Christ calms your soul by taking full responsibility for your needs as you obey Him. You’ll find peace when you trust Him, because you’re assured that the One who is best able to give you the victory in every situation will never leave or forsake you.
So when you feel overwhelmed, stop and spend time with your Savior, Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. Then rejoice in the fact that He has everything under control. Truly, He is always ready, willing, and able to help you!
Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuse and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Prayer thought: “Father, thank You for sending Jesus to be my Prince of Peace and giving me true rest. You are the joy and rejoicing of my soul forever, amen.”
This Christmas season, be at peace.
