Do you ever feel anxious? Perhaps you do with the COVID virus circling around you. Christmas is just around the corner and your fearful to be around a lot of people or your depressed because you will be alone this Christmas. Anxiety is real and yours is weighing you down.
Do you long for God to speak to you about something pressing and specific that’s weighing heavy on your heart? At times He will bring you to the point of desperation so you’ll rely totally on Him and be open to what He says.
In 2 Samuel 22:17-18 we read, “He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters; He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.”
You see, dependence on the Father and surrender to His will go hand and hand. You must be convinced that He has the best plan for your life, and usually that means coming to the realization that there’s nothing you can do to improve your situation.
Until then, you’re like a person who is drowning, struggling and flailing for air against the overwhelming flood waters and inadvertently fighting the only One who is trying to rescue you. It’s not until your strength is gone and you finally give up that He can lead you to safety.
So my friend, stop working against God. Lean on His power, wisdom, and love. And yield to your Rescuers perfect plan for your life. Allow your desperation to lead you to dependence on Him, because that is the path to your sure deliverance from your anxiety.
Prayer thought: “Dear Lord, I do feel like I am drowning at times. Thank You for rescuing me. I will depend on You and surrender to Your perfect plan, amen.”
For today, allow God to rescue you from all your anxiety and cares.
