Question: “Are you ever amazed at the sickness of your heart? I mean the way it sometimes strays from God’s Word, doubts His promised, and wavers during difficult situations. Do you find that your efforts to reform your behavior fail more times that you would like to admit and you find yourself discouraged time and time again?
It may be that though you trust Jesus to save and keep you, you don’t really have faith that He can transform your life. And so you work, wrestle, and strive to do it yourself- all for nothing- all in vain.
My life verse is Galatians 2:20, where the apostle Paul wrote these words, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved
me, and gave himself for me.”
The Holy Spirit is both willing and able to produce the character of Christ in you, NOT through your effort, but through His transforming power. Your job, my job, is to abide in Him, which means staying focused on Jesus, submitting to His leadership, and seeing the details of your life as coming from His hand for our instruction (Read John 15).
Please understand, you CANNOT change yourself, but God can and will if you let Him. Once you learn to let Him transform your life, you will have the key to living a truly victorious life even during times of great uncertainty.
Prayer thought: “Lord Jesus, only You can truly change me. Live through me. Teach me to abide in You always, amen.”
For today, allow Jesus to live through you.
