Once you become a born again Christian, what does God require of you, you may wonder. How does the Lord want you to live with and for Him and in a relationship with others?
You find answers to these questions by reading God’s Word. Begin by reading and meditating on the Gospels, especially the book of John. Get to know who Jesus is. Enjoy His presence. Understand His character, His words, His mission, and His profound love for you.
And then read the Psalms. As you do you will discover that David experienced many of the same hardships and challenges that you do, he asked similar questions, and felt the same intense emotions. You’ll realize that you are not alone in your difficulties and worries, and that God can and will meet you right where you are.
Listen, no matter what you are struggling with today, seek the kingdom of God. We read in Luke 12:31, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need” (NLT).
In other words, learn how the Lord operates. Because as you begin to read Scripture and absorb it into your life, the Holy Spirit will move to fill your heart with more of Himself and will give you the answers you need.
Prayer thought: “Lord Jesus, please help me to seek You first at all times. I trust that You have the answer to every question in my heart. Amen.”
Today, may your focus be to know God more.
